# Upstream GitHub Codespaces

Sydekyks user and operator guide. Check feature availability and release-specific installation requirements.

GitHub Codespaces is a cloud development platform that enables developers to write, run, and debug code directly in their browsers, seamlessly integrated with GitHub.

### Steps to setup Codespaces

-

Go to upstream Activepieces repository (https://github.com/activepieces/activepieces).

-

Click Code <>, then under codespaces click create codespace on main.

By default, the development setup only builds specific pieces.Open the file
.env.dev and add comma-separated list of pieces to make
available.

For more details, check out the Piece Development (https://docs.sydekyks.com/build-pieces/building-pieces/development-setup#pieces-development) section.

-

Open the terminal and run npm start

-

Use the frontend URL and synthetic development account documented by the chosen source setup. Do not treat upstream demo credentials as a Sydekyks customer account.

The GitHub image is an upstream repository illustration. Choose the supported source revision as described in development source (https://docs.sydekyks.com/build-pieces/building-pieces/setup-fork); a new upstream Codespace is not a verified Sydekyks release environment.
